A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING JAMES E. MAHONEY, JR., OF HILLCREST HIGH SCHOOL, SUMTER SCHOOL DISTRICT TWO, ON HIS ACADEMIC AND SCHOLARSHIP HONORS AND AWARDS.

Whereas, James Edward Mahoney, Jr., of Sumter School District Two is the eighteen-year-old son of James E., Sr., and Katie Jenkins Mahoney of Sumter and is a graduating senior at Hillcrest High School; and

Whereas, he was designated for the Naval ROTC Scholarship and the National Scholars Scholarship from the University of Oklahoma; and

Whereas, he also was named a Furman Scholar, an Erskine Fellow, and a Presbyterian Junior Fellow, was Chief Marshal, and is the senior class valedictorian; and

Whereas, he has achieved academic excellence and has made all persons associated with him proud of his accomplishments; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are pleased to recognize and congratulate such an outstanding young man. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates James E. Mahoney, Jr., of Hillcrest High School, Sumter School District Two, on his academic and scholarship honors and awards.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. James E. Mahoney, Jr., 4545 Cotton Acres Road, Sumter, South Carolina, 29153, and to Dr. J. Frank Baker, Superintendent, Sumter School District Two, Post Office Box 2425, Sumter, South Carolina, 29151-2425.
