A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING MS. BETH ANN HOLTZCLAW OF ANDERSON ON RECEIVING THE "YOUTH IN ACTION" AWARD FROM THE FOOTHILLS UNITED WAY AND THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF ANDERSON.

Whereas, Ms. Beth Ann Holtzclaw of Anderson has been named the recipient of the "Youth in Action" award by the Foothills United Way and the Junior League of Anderson; and

Whereas, Ms. Holtzclaw was one of three outstanding volunteers honored in April, 1994, at T. L. Hanna High School in Anderson, culminating the celebration of National Volunteer Week; and

Whereas, the "Youth in Action" award is presented to volunteers eighteen or younger who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to community service; and

Whereas, Ms. Holtzclaw is a Senior at T. L. Hanna High School and was nominated by the Literacy Association of Anderson County for her work with a foster child; she tutored an eight-year-old girl for two years, spending hours with her every Saturday on arithmetic and reading; and

Whereas, Ms. Holtzclaw, an outstanding young woman, exemplifies the dedication and generosity of volunteers and is greatly deserving of her award. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Ms. Beth Ann Holtzclaw of Anderson on receiving the "Youth in Action" award from the Foothills United Way and the Junior League of Anderson.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Holtzclaw.
