A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING MRS. LINDA JO ANDERSON OF BELTON ON BEING NAMED THE RECIPIENT OF THE "SERVICE TO THE CHILD" AWARD BY THE FOOTHILLS UNITED WAY AND THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF ANDERSON.

Whereas, Mrs. Linda Jo Anderson of Belton has been named the recipient of the "Service to the Child" award by the Foothills United Way and the Junior League of Anderson; and

Whereas, Mrs. Anderson was one of three outstanding volunteers honored in April, 1994, at T. L. Hanna High School in Anderson, culminating the celebration of National Volunteer Week; and

Whereas, the "Service to the Child" award is presented to a volunteer whose activities have a direct effect on the community's youth; Mrs. Anderson is involved in a host of activities but was nominated for her work with the Blue Ridge Council of the Boy Scouts of America; she is active in scouting and has served in several positions, from day camp director to troop leader; and

Whereas, her many hours of volunteer service have enriched the lives of boys involved in scouting and make her a truly deserving recipient of this prestigious award. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution congratulates Mrs. Linda Jo Anderson of Belton on being named the recipient of the "Service to the Child" award by the Foothills United Way and the Junior League of Anderson.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Anderson.
