TO CONGRATULATE WILLIE FRAZIER McNULTY DAVIS AS BEING ONE OF THE TOP 100 OR MORE OUTSTANDING GRADUATES OF HISTORICALLY BLACK COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES UPON RECEIVING THE HONOR AS DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AT THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BLACKS IN HIGHER EDUCATION RECENTLY IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
Whereas, the members of the Senate are very pleased to learn that Willie Frazier McNulty Davis has received this splendid tribute and brought national attention to the State of South Carolina; and
Whereas, Mrs. Frazier Davis is to be commended for her ability and achievements at the State Department of Education, community, and State as an outstanding career woman and outstanding graduate of Denmark Technical College; and
Whereas, Mrs. Frazier Davis' wise leadership and perseverance inspires others to achieve their goals; and
Whereas, her life demonstrates her trust in the American dream, faith in God, and fortitude in overcoming prejudice and obstacles that would have discouraged many; and
Whereas, throughout her twenty-seven years at the South Carolina Department of Education, no one has held such a high degree of respect and good wishes from so many devoted friends and associates; and
Whereas, she has been senior administrative assistant to three State Superintendents of Education, serving them with exemplary commitment, loyalty, and dedication; and
Whereas, she was the first black secretary hired at the South Carolina Department of Education; and
Whereas, she serves her church as an ambassador for Christ at Bethel A.M.E. Church. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That Willie Frazier McNulty Davis be congratulated as being as one of the top 100 or more outstanding graduates of historically black colleges and universities upon receiving the honor as Distinguished Alumni at the 18th National Conference on Blacks in Higher Education.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Willie Frazier McNulty Davis.
