AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 261 OF 1981, RELATING TO THE PROCEDURE FOR DETERMINING THE ANNUAL BUDGET AND SCHOOL TAX MILLAGE FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF PICKENS COUNTY, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT, IN ADDITION TO A CERTAIN INCREASE PROVIDED FOR IN THAT ACT, THERE MAY BE ADDED TO THE BUDGET AN AMOUNT EQUAL TO ONE PERCENT OF THAT PORTION OF THE SCHOOL BUDGET WHICH IS GENERATED FROM LOCAL FUNDS FOR THE PRIOR FISCAL YEAR TO BE USED FOR NECESSARY SCHOOL MAINTENANCE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
School budget generated from local funds; etc.
SECTION 1. Subsection D of Section 1 of Act 261 of 1981 is amended to read:
"D. In addition to the increase provided for in subsection C, there may be added to the budget an amount equal to one percent of that portion of the school budget which is generated from local funds for the prior fiscal year to be used for necessary school maintenance."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
