A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING SORROW AT THE DEATH OF WALTER SHERARD MCADAMS OF ANDERSON AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Walter Sherard McAdams of Anderson died on January 18, 1996, at the age of eighty; and

Whereas, Mr. McAdams was retired as an orderly at Anderson Area Medical Center following forty-five years of outstanding service; and

Whereas, he was a United States Army World War II veteran and served his county in the Solomon Islands, New Guinea, the Dutch West Indies, and the Philippines; he attained the rank of Technical Sergeant and was a personnel sergeant of the 318th Medical Battalion, 93rd Infantry; and

Whereas, he served for three years as vice president of the Anderson Community Development Company, and he was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church and served as a former trustee and as a member of pulpit aid #3; and

Whereas, he was an outstanding gentleman who meant much to his community and who will be greatly missed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express sorrow at the death of Walter Sherard McAdams of Anderson and extend sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family of Mr. McAdams.
