CONGRATULATING BROOKLAND-CAYCE HIGH SCHOOL OF LEXINGTON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT TWO ON BEING NAMED A WINNER IN REDBOOK MAGAZINE'S "AMERICA'S BEST SCHOOLS" PROJECT.
Whereas, Brookland-Cayce High School of Lexington County School District Two has been named a winner in Redbook magazine's "America's Best Schools" project; and
Whereas, Brookland-Cayce was selected for this prestigious national award for its "innovative and successful programs, as well as its uncompromising commitment to excellence"; and
Whereas, a feature in Redbook's April 1996 issue spotlights Brookland-Cayce, along with all of the other national honorees; and
Whereas, Brookland-Cayce High's accomplishments and success clearly demonstrates that public education is flourishing in South Carolina, and the school is a definite role model for other Palmetto State schools and for countless other schools around the country; and
Whereas, we are delighted to have this opportunity to accord Brookland-Cayce High School special recognition. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Brookland-Cayce High School of Lexington County School District Two on being named a winner in Redbook magazine's "America's Best Schools" project.
Be it further resolved that copies of this resolution by forwarded to Mr. Joe Bonds, Superintendent of Lexington County School District Two, and Mr. Barry F. Bolen, Principal of Brookland-Cayce High School.
