A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

RECOGNIZING ROBERT M. BELL OF AIKEN COUNTY FOR HIS MANY CONTRIBUTIONS TO HIS COMMUNITY AND HIS INCLUSION IN WHO'S WHO IN THE SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST.

Whereas, Robert Morrall Bell of Langley, Aiken County, has been selected for inclusion in Who's Who in the South and Southwest; and

Whereas, he is a practicing attorney with the firm of Bell, Surasky, and Gmerek of Langley; and

Whereas, he received his A.B. degree from USC in 1958 and his law degree from USC in 1965; and

Whereas, he has served as county attorney for Aiken County since 1982 and served on the South Carolina Highway Commission from 1982-86; and

Whereas, he was state executive committeeman for the South Carolina Democratic Committee from 1980-86, member of the South Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners from 1978-80, and member of the Aiken County Planning Commission from 1976-80; and

Whereas, he served as chairman of the Aiken County Transportation Committee from 1993-96 and was a member of the board of directors of the Aiken County Crippled Children's Society from 1976-82; and

Whereas, he is an outstanding attorney and a dedicated member of the community; he consistently and willingly contributes his time, talent, energy, and resources for the improvement of his community and he is highly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognizes Robert M. Bell of Aiken County for his many contributions to his community and his inclusion in Who's Who in the South and Southwest.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Bell.
