THANKING KEN SHULL, PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF LEXINGTON MEDICAL CENTER SINCE 1988, FOR HIS OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP AND MANY CONTRIBUTIONS TO EXCELLENCE IN THE HEALTH CARE DELIVERY SYSTEM IN THE MIDLANDS.
Whereas, since January, 1988, Ken Shull has been the president and chief executive officer of Lexington Medical Center; and
Whereas, his leadership, vision, hard work, and dedication have combined to make Lexington Medical Center a premier provider in the health care delivery system, which has benefitted not only Lexington County but the all of the Midlands area of South Carolina; and
Whereas, Mr. Shull is responsible for major expansion at Lexington Medical Center, which has brought new technology to the hospital; under his direction, the hospital purchased Rikard Nursing Homes and also completed the Swansea project (the Swansea Urgent Care Center); the Lexington Medical Center Foundation was established; a Physician Relations program was initiated; and the Carolina HealthChoice Network was formed; and
Whereas, Mr. Shull is retiring as president and chief executive officer of Lexington Medical Center to take a leadership position with the South Carolina Hospital Association; and
Whereas, we are grateful for his many accomplishments and contributions while serving as head of Lexington Medical Center, and we are delighted to have this opportunity to accord him special recognition. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, thanks Ken Shull, president and chief executive officer of Lexington Medical Center since 1988, for his outstanding leadership and many contributions to excellence in the health care delivery system in the Midlands.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Ken Shull.
