AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 43-33-330, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE BOARD OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA PROTECTION AND ADVOCACY SYSTEM FOR THE HANDICAPPED, INC., SO AS TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD TO CHANGE ITS CORPORATE NAME IN THE SAME MANNER AS ANY OTHER NONPROFIT CORPORATION AND TO PROVIDE THAT THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE SYSTEM ARE CONSIDERED THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF A SUCCESSOR CORPORATION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Board name may be changed; powers and duties to be considered transferred
SECTION 1. Section 43-33-330 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 52 of 1991, is further amended by adding at the end:
"The board may change its corporate name in the same manner as any other nonprofit corporation, and if the board changes its corporate name, the powers and duties of the South Carolina Protection and Advocacy System for the Handicapped, Inc., are considered to be the powers and duties of the successor nonprofit corporation."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
