A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF MRS. MARGARET L. SPIRES OF CAYCE WHO DIED APRIL 11, 1995.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Mrs. Margaret L. Spires of Cayce this week; and

Whereas, she was a native of Swansea, daughter of the late John S. and Ada Day Love, and before her retirement, was associated with the Columbia Paper Company; and

Whereas, Mrs. Spires was known and respected throughout Cayce, West Columbia, and Lexington County as a person who cared deeply for her community and who worked in so many ways to improve it; and

Whereas, she was a charter member and board member of the Cayce Museum Historical Society, a loyal and devoted member of First Baptist Church of Cayce, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, and was an active supporter of education through national and state PTA groups; and

Whereas, she was above all a devoted wife to her husband, Lowell, and a loving mother to her three wonderful children; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to extend their sincere condolences to the Spires family upon the death of this truly lovely lady. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly hereby express their deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Mrs. Margaret L. Spires of Cayce who died April 11, 1995.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to her husband, Lowell C. Spires, Jr.
