A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 30-4-50, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO MATTERS DECLARED PUBLIC INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT, SO AS TO DELETE REFERENCES TO VOTES AND TO MAKE MINUTES OF EXECUTIVE SESSION MEETINGS AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC NINETY DAYS AFTER THE MEETING.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 30-4-50(A)(7) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(7) the minutes of all proceedings of all public bodies and all votes at such proceedings, with the exception of all such minutes and votes taken at meetings closed to the public pursuant to Section 30-4-70; provided, however, the minutes of meetings closed to the public pursuant to Section 30-4-70 may be withheld from public disclosure for not more than 90 days following the meeting, and then must be made available for public inspection and copying;"

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
