A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING PEGGY S. MCQUOWN OF GREENWOOD COUNTY ON BEING SELECTED THE 1997 SOUTH CAROLINA MOTHER OF THE YEAR.

Whereas, Peggy S. McQuown of Greenwood County has been named the 1997 South Carolina Mother of the Year and is Greenwood's third recipient of the state award; and

Whereas, Mrs. McQuown was recently selected for this distinct honor from forty-one statewide nominees by the South Carolina Mother's Committee (an affiliate of American Mothers, Inc.) For representing the highest degree of motherhood and family values in her own life and in the lives of her children; and

Whereas, she is married to Dr. James A. McQuown of Greenwood, is the mother of eight children, and has eighteen grandchildren; and

Whereas, she is a dynamic, active, dedicated, charming, and loving person who is admired by all who know her, and we are very proud of her achievements and happy to have this opportunity to recognize and salute such an outstanding individual. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Peggy S. McQuown of Greenwood County on being selected the 1997 South Carolina Mother of the Year.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. McQuown.
