A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

SALUTING THE WILSON HALL GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM OF SUMTER COUNTY ON WINNING THE 1996 SCISA CROSS COUNTRY STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the Wilson Hall girls cross country team of Sumter County has captured the 1996 SCISA cross country state title -- the team's second statewide crown; and

Whereas, the team ran in seven meets during the Fall 1996 season and placed first in all but one meet where the Wilson Hall girls finished second; the team also won the Sumter County Championship on September 28, 1996; and

Whereas, the team members' talent, dedication, hard work, and unity combined to make them state champs -- a very high honor -- and we are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize them in this special manner. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, salutes the Wilson Hall girls cross country team of Sumter County on winning the 1996 SCISA cross country state championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Wilson Hall girls cross country team.
