TO DISAPPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO PARAPROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES (REPEAL), DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1953, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to Paraprofessional Personnel Qualifications and Duties (Repeal), designated as Regulation Document Number 1953, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are disapproved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.
This regulation sets out qualifications of teachers aides and requirements regarding their working conditions. We propose that this regulation be repealed in order to consolidate and condense a number of State Board of Education regulations which address this issue. Parts of this regulation are being merged into R43-209, Nonprofessional Personnel Positions.
