COMMENDING MICHEL GRAYDON FOR HER OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE GEORGETOWN COMMUNITY AND GEORGETOWN COUNTY IN THE AREAS OF HISTORY AND THE ARTS.
Whereas, Michel Graydon has dedicated her time and energy to the Georgetown area, specifically in the areas of history and the arts; and
Whereas, her outstanding efforts have contributed to vast improvements in the Georgetown community and Georgetown County; and
Whereas, as a member and chairman of the Georgetown County Historical Commission, she was successful in bringing the Brown's Ferry Vessel to Georgetown, raised funds for the renovation of the Kaminski Building, and helped expand the Rice Museum into a cultural arts center for both history and art; and
Whereas, she has been active in her service to the Strand Theater Committee, the Youth Enrichment Adventure, the Georgetown County Mental Health Board, and the Governor's Mansion Foundation Capital Fund Raising Program; and
Whereas, she was the recipient of the Brookgreen Gardens Annual Medal in 1986 for her contributions to the Gardens. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend Michel Graydon of Georgetown County for her outstanding contributions to the county and Georgetown Community in the areas of history and the arts.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Michel Graydon.
