A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING MULLINS HIGH SCHOOL ON WINNING THE CLASS AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN BOYS BASKETBALL FOR 1997.

Whereas, Mullins High School clinched the 1997 Class AA state crown in boys basketball with an exciting 56-52 victory over Pendleton High School at Carolina Coliseum in Columbia in March; and

Whereas, the Auctioneers of Mullins High School finished the 1996-97 season with an outstanding record of 26-3 and were guided during this season's campaign by Head Coach Mark Gerald and Assistant Coach Myron Gerald; and

Whereas, the Auctioneers demonstrated true grit, hard work, unity, and superb talent during the 1996-97 season--qualities which combined to make them state champs; and

Whereas, we are delighted to have this opportunity to accord special recognition to this very fine group of scholar-athletes and their talented coaches. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Mullins High School on winning the Class AA State Championship in boys basketball for 1997.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Auctioneers basketball team of Mullins High School in care of Head Coach Mark Gerald.
