A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING HOLLY HILL-ROBERTS HIGH SCHOOL ON WINNING THE CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN BOYS BASKETBALL FOR 1997.

Whereas, Holly Hill-Roberts High School won the Class AAA state championship in boys basketball for 1997 with a 64-56 victory over Greenville High School on March 15, 1997, at Carolina Coliseum in Columbia; and

Whereas, the Bulldogs of Holly Hill-Roberts thus secured their second consecutive state crown and finished the 1996-97 season with a superb 29-3 record; and

Whereas, the Bulldogs' head coach is Willie Thomas, whose expertise guided the team through the playoffs to the state title; and

Whereas, the team members' dedication, talent, hard work, and unity propelled them to victory, and their achievements during the 1996-97 season are highly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Holly Hill-Roberts High School on winning the Class AAA state championship in boys basketball for 1997.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Bulldogs basketball team of Holly Hill-Roberts High School, in care of Head Coach Willie Thomas.
