TO DISAPPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO POLICY DEVELOPMENT (REPEAL), DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1981, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to Policy Development (Repeal), designated as Regulation Document Number 1981, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are disapproved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.
Currently the State outlines specifically what must be included in a local school board policy manual. This decision should be made by local school boards and superintendents. The proposed repeal of this regulation will allow local boards to prepare a policy manual with topics it deems appropriate.
