A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL TEAM OF WARDLAW ACADEMY OF EDGEFIELD COUNTY ON WINNING THE SCISAA CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 1997.

Whereas, the Girls Varsity Basketball Team of Wardlaw Academy of Edgefield County won the 1997 SCISAA Class A state championship by defeating Archibald Rutledge Academy of McClellanville 33-28; and

Whereas, Dennis Gibson coached the Wardlaw girls during the 1997 season; and

Whereas, the Wardlaw basketball team is clearly outstanding; and

Whereas, winning a state championship is an excellent accomplishment and is greatly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulates the Girls Varsity Basketball Team of Wardlaw Academy of Edgefield County on winning the SCISAA Class A state championship for 1997.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the team, in care of Coach Gibson.
