A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING SORROW AT THE DEATH OF HENRY E. WELCH, JR., OF LEE COUNTY AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

Whereas, Henry E. Welch, Jr., of Lee County died January 8, 1998, at the age of fifty-three; and

Whereas, Mr. Welch was born in Charleston and was Chief Correctional Officer for the Lee County Detention Center and a member of the Lee County Law Enforcement Association; and

Whereas, he was an outstanding member of his community and was greatly respected, admired, and loved by all who knew him; and

Whereas, we want his family and many friends to know that they are uppermost in our thoughts and have our deepest sympathy. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express sorrow at the death of Henry E. Welch, Jr., of Lee County and extend sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Welch's family.
