A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 50-11-29 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT IT IS UNLAWFUL TO HUNT MIGRATORY WATERFOWL ON SALUDA LAKE IN GREENVILLE AND PICKENS COUNTIES WITHIN TWO HUNDRED YARDS OF A DWELLING WITHOUT WRITTEN PERMISSION OF THE OWNER AND OCCUPANT, AND TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 50-11-29. It is unlawful to hunt migratory waterfowl on Saluda Lake in Greenville and Pickens Counties within two hundred yards of a dwelling without written permission of the owner and occupant. As used in this section, Saluda Lake includes the area from Saluda Lake Dam to the Highway 183 bridge. A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined not more than two hundred dollars or imprisoned not more than thirty days."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
