A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING SORROW AT THE DEATH OF ESSIE LOUVENIA CUNNINGHAM OF SPARTANBURG AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

Whereas, Essie Louvenia Cunningham of Spartanburg died February 17, 1998, at the age of sixty; and

Whereas, Ms. Cunningham was born in Anderson County and was affectionately known as "Beanie"; she became a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church after her family moved to Spartanburg County in the 1940's; she was a 1954 graduate of Carver High School; and at the time of her death, she was a member of God's Ministry Baptist Church; and

Whereas, she was a devoted and active church member; she was a gracious and loving lady who was respected, admired, and loved by all who knew her; and her presence will be greatly missed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of Essie Louvenia Cunningham of Spartanburg and extends sympathy to her family and friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Cunningham's family.
