AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 515 OF 1996, RELATING TO THE DEVOLUTION OF THE AUTHORITY FOR APPOINTMENTS AND BUDGETARY APPROVALS FOR CERTAIN OFFICES, BOARDS, AND COMMISSIONS FROM THE JOINT LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION REPRESENTING GEORGETOWN COUNTY TO THE GOVERNING BODY OF THAT COUNTY, SO AS TO RESTORE THOSE DEVOLVED POWERS TO THE DELEGATION FOR CERTAIN OFFICES, BOARDS, AND COMMISSIONS AND PROVIDE THAT APPOINTMENTS TO THESE OFFICES, BOARDS, AND COMMISSIONS BE MADE ON A ROTATING BASIS BY RESIDENT DELEGATION MEMBERS WITH ADVICE AND CONSENT OF THE SENATORS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section (A)(2) of Act 515 of 1996 is amended to read:

Powers restored to delegation

SECTION 2. The authority to make appointments to the Transportation Committee, Horry-Georgetown Commission for Technical Education, Economic Opportunity Commission, Waccamaw Regional Planning Council, and Board of Elections and Registration which was devolved from the Joint Legislative Delegation of Georgetown County to the governing body of Georgetown County is restored to the delegation on the effective date of this act. All of the appointments to these offices, boards, and commissions must be made on a rotating basis by resident delegation members with advice and consent of the Senators.

SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
