A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE AND EXTEND BEST WISHES OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO MRS. RUTH LINDSEY DORRITY OF EASLEY UPON THE OCCASION OF HER ONE HUNDREDTH BIRTHDAY LATER THIS SUMMER.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are very pleased to learn that Mrs. Ruth Lindsey Dorrity of Easley will celebrate her one hundredth birthday later this summer; and

Whereas, she was born in Newberry on August 3, 1898, and was one of seven children of Mr. and Mrs. Garvin Lindsey; and

Whereas, Mrs. Dorrity is truly an amazing lady who still maintains her own home in Easley, is the oldest member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, and continues to live as a person many years her junior would live; and

Whereas, she is blessed with a large and wonderful family including eight children, twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-three great-grand children, and eight great-great grandchildren most of whom are still living and able to enjoy her company; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate Mrs. Dorrity on the occasion of her upcoming one hundredth birthday and extend every good wish to her as she enters her one hundred and first year. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives hereby congratulate and extend best wishes to Mrs. Ruth Lindsey Dorrity of Easley upon the occasion of her one hundredth birthday later this summer.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Dorrity.
