CONGRATULATING LEGISLATIVE AIDE JENNIFER LUCILLE PARRISH OF AIKEN COUNTY ON HER GRADUATION FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA IN MAY, 1998, AND THANKING HER FOR HER ABLE SERVICE TO THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DURING THE 1997-98 REGULAR SESSION AND AS A PAGE IN 1996, AND WISHING HER WELL IN HER FUTURE PURSUITS.
Whereas, Jennifer Lucille Parrish of Aiken County received the Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia in May, 1998, with a major in political science and a minor in history; and
Whereas, during her course of study at the University, Ms. Parrish supplemented her academic training with actual experience in the political process; and
Whereas, her field training included service as page to State Representative Daniel Tripp from January to June, 1996, legislative intern to United States Representative Lindsey Graham during the summer of 1997, and legislative aide to State Representatives Becky Meacham and Doug Smith during the 1996-97 regular session; and
Whereas, she very ably served this House of Representatives by assisting lawmakers with specific needs and providing general support, responding to constituent requests regarding legislative issues and individual casework, informing constitutients about status of legislation on a weekly basis, and organizing and implementing reception planning; and
Whereas, Ms. Parrish was also active politically in student government at the University, serving on the Sorority Council, in the Student Legislature, and as Senator for the Liberal Arts College; and
Whereas, her intellectual and practical experiences, her competence an diligence will serve her well in her future pursuits. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate Legislative Aide Jennifer Lucille Parrish of Aiken County on her graduation from the University of South Carolina in May, 1998, and thank her for her able service to the House of Representatives during the 1997-98 regular session and as a page in 1996, and wish her well in her future pursuits.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Parrish.
