A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 56-19-490 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT CERTAIN DAMAGED MOTOR VEHICLES MUST HAVE "SALVAGED VEHICLE" RECORDED ON THEIR CERTIFICATES OF TITLE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 56-19-490. Notwithstanding another provision of law, any motor vehicle which is damaged, regardless of the extent of the cost of repairing the motor vehicle, and disposed of through a salvage auction or by an insurance company must have 'salvaged vehicle' recorded forever on the vehicle's certificate of title."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
