CONGRATULATING THE STUDENTS, FACULTY, STAFF, AND ADMINISTRATION OF LEXINGTON HIGH SCHOOL IN LEXINGTON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 1 ON BEING HONORED WITH THE CAROLINA FIRST PALMETTO'S FINEST AWARD.

Whereas, the members of the Senate note that the Awards Committee for the Carolina First Palmetto's Finest has named Lexington High School in Lexington School District 1 the recipient of the 1996-97 Palmetto's Finest Award; and

Whereas, this prestigious awards program in its nineteenth year has seen fit to honor a midlands high school that exemplifies all that is good and positive in public education in this State; and

Whereas, this award recognizes the hard work of Lexington High School students, teachers, staff, and administration and serves as an exemplar of quality public education. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate, by this resolution, congratulates the students, faculty, staff and administration of Lexington High School in Lexington School District 1 on being honored with the Carolina First Palmetto's Finest Award.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Principal Allan Whitacre.
