A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 1-11-770 SO AS TO REQUIRE PHARMACIES PARTICIPATING IN THE STATE HEALTH PLAN TO BILL THE PLAN FOR REIMBURSEMENT AFTER EMPLOYEES ELIGIBLE FOR REIMBURSEMENT HAVE MET THEIR DEDUCTIBLE AND TO REQUIRE EMPLOYEES TO PAY THEIR COPAYMENT AT THE TIME A PRESCRIPTION IS FILLED.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 1-11-770. Participating pharmacies of the state health plan shall bill the state health plan's drug program for reimbursement after employees eligible for reimbursement have met their plan deductible. State employees covered by the drug prescription plan shall pay the copayment to the participating pharmacy at the time the prescription is filled by the participating pharmacy."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
