A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

SALUTING MS. LESLEY FONDREN OF NORTH MYRTLE BEACH ON BEING NAMED ONE OF SOUTH CAROLINA'S TOP STUDENT VOLUNTEERS IN THE FIFTH ANNUAL "PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY AWARDS" PROGRAM.

Whereas, Ms. Lesley Fondren of North Myrtle Beach has been named one of South Carolina's top student volunteers in the fifth annual "Prudential Spirit of Community Awards" program; and

Whereas, this is a nationwide program which recognizes young people for outstanding community service; and

Whereas, by virtue of being selected for this prestigious honor, Ms. Fondren is to receive a bronze distinguished finalist medallion from Prudential Insurance Company of America at a local ceremony; and

Whereas, the National Association of Secondary School Principals and The Prudential annually bring this well-deserved recognition to young people like Ms. Fondren; and

Whereas, the honor goes to young volunteers across America who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to serving their communities; and

Whereas, the success of the State of South Carolina, the strength of local communities, and the overall vitality of American society depend, in great measure, upon the dedication of young people like Lesley Fondren, who has used her considerable talents and resources to serve others. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, salutes Ms. Lesley Fondren of North Myrtle Beach on being named one of South Carolina's top student volunteers in the fifth annual "Prudential Spirit of Community Awards" program.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Fondren.
