A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING MS. BOBBIE SONEFELD OF HOPKINS, RICHLAND COUNTY, ON WINNING ONE MILLION DOLLARS FOR HER CREAM CHEESE BROWNIE PIE IN THE FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY PILLSBURY BAKE-OFF CONTEST.

Whereas, on February 28, 2000, a pie combining cheesecake and brownies secured the one million dollar grand prize for Ms. Bobbie Sonefeld at the fiftieth anniversary Pillsbury Bake-Off contest; and

Whereas, Ms. Sonefeld, a self-described "soccer mom", is a resident of Hopkins, in Richland County; and

Whereas, her cream cheese brownie pie took top honors at the legendary competition held this year in San Francisco, where ninety-nine of the nation's best cooks competed in the event sponsored by Pillsbury and General Electric Appliances; and

Whereas, Ms. Sonefeld has a passion for baking; her original recipe, created just for this contest, uses Pillsbury Brownie Mix and Pillsbury Refrigerated Pie Crust to reduce the preparation time to only fifteen minutes; her cream cheese brownie pie competed in the Fast and Fabulous Desserts and Treats category, and the food experts who judged the competition saluted her recipe as "a combination of indulgence and convenience"; and

Whereas, by being selected the contest winner, Ms. Sonefeld brought distinction to the State of South Carolina; we are very proud of her and are greatly pleased to have this opportunity to recognize her. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Ms. Bobbie Sonefeld of Hopkins, Richland County, on winning one million dollars for her cream cheese brownie pie in the fiftieth anniversary Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Sonefeld.
