A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-140, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF VOTING PRECINCTS IN CHARLESTON COUNTY, SO AS TO RENAME JOHNS ISLAND 5A VOTING PRECINCT TO KIAWAH ISLAND VOTING PRECINCT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 7-7-140(A) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(A) In Charleston County there are the following precincts:

SECTION 2. The Division of Research and Statistical Services of the Budget and Control Board and the Charleston County Board of Voter Registration shall make any necessary precinct name changes from Johns Island 5A to Kiawah Island as necessary to affect the purpose of this act.

SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
