A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING THE EFFORTS OF THE LATE DR. JAMES I. CALIFF OF MYRTLE BEACH IN DIRECTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SILVER HAIRED LEGISLATURE, INC., AND ALSO RECOGNIZING DR. CALIFF'S OTHER LONG AND TIRELESS EFFORTS ON BEHALF OF THE SENIOR CITIZENS OF HORRY COUNTY AND OF SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, the late Dr. James I. Califf of Myrtle Beach was responsible for the establishment of the South Carolina Silver Haired Legislature, Inc.; and

Whereas, Dr. Califf also was known and greatly admired for his leadership in forming the South Carolina Federation for Older Americans and served as president of that federation; and

Whereas, Dr. Califf provided long and tireless efforts on behalf of the senior citizens of Horry County and of South Carolina; and

Whereas, his inspirational work for seniors will long be remembered and appreciated. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognizes and greatly commends the efforts of the late Dr. James I. Califf of Myrtle Beach in directing the establishment of the South Carolina Silver Haired Legislature, Inc., and also recognizes Dr. Califf's other long and tireless efforts on behalf of the senior citizens of Horry County and of South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Califf's family.
