A JOINT RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE THAT SCHOOL DAYS MISSED ON JANUARY 4, 5, AND 6, 1999, BY THE STUDENTS OF THE CHEROKEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR SCHOOL YEAR 1998-99 WHEN THE SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO ICE AND WEATHER CONDITIONS AND A LACK OF ELECTRICITY ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
School days forgiven
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, school days missed on January 4, 5, and 6, 1999, by the students of the Cherokee County School District for school year 1998-99 when the schools were closed due to ice and weather conditions and a lack of electricity are exempted from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.
Time effective
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
Ratified the 16th day of February, 1999.
