A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

COMMENDING EDWARD H. SEXAUER FOR HIS OUTSTANDING WORK AT SOUTH CAROLINA EDUCATIONAL TELEVISION IN SUMTER AND WISHING HIM HAPPINESS AND SUCCESS FOLLOWING HIS RETIREMENT.

Whereas, Edward H. Sexauer is a native of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, he graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1956 and served for two years in the United States Army; as a lieutenant, he was assigned to a medical battalion of the Third Infantry Division in Fort Benning; and

Whereas, he did two years of graduate work at UCLA, where he specialized in radio and television; in February 1961, he began working at WIS-TV in Columbia as a member of that station's production staff; in 1967, he transferred to WSFA-TV in Montgomery, Alabama, where he served as Operations Director and Assistant Program Manager for seven years; and

Whereas, Mr. Sexauer accepted a job in 1975 with South Carolina Educational Television (SCETV), where he became Program Manager for the just organized WRJA-TV in Sumter, and he has served in that position since that time; one of his primary duties at WRJA has been as producer and director of "Chamber Perspective", a program which is presented on a monthly basis in cooperation with the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce; and

Whereas, he has been selected as an Outstanding Achievement Award winner for his efforts with "Chamber Perspective" and for his promotion of the chamber and the Sumter community through SCETV; and

Whereas, Ed Sexauer's work at SCETV has been outstanding; his efforts and his leadership have taken SCETV to new heights of excellence, and his abilities have assured that tens of thousands of South Carolinians have enjoyed, and learned from, quality programming; and

Whereas, we want Ed Sexauer, who is retiring from SCETV this year, to know that we deeply appreciate his efforts and contributions rendered over many years to the citizens and the State of South Carolina, and, further, we wish him much happiness and success in all of his future endeavors. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution; commend Edward H. Sexauer on his outstanding work at SCETV in Sumter and wish him happiness and success following his retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Edward H. Sexauer.
