A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE EDWARD R. FRYE, JR., ADMINISTRATOR OF CLARENDON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN MANNING, ON HIS RECEIPT OF THE PRESTIGIOUS COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HEALTH ALLIANCE.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were pleased to learn that the South Carolina Health Alliance, at its recent 78th Annual South Carolina Health Alliance Awards held in Columbia, honored with its prestigious Community Service Award Mr. Edward R. Frye, Jr., Administrator of Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning; and

Whereas, the award is presented to recognize those who have made noteworthy contributions to the health care field in this State; and

Whereas, Ed Frye in his career has demonstrated a deep commitment to and is a passionate advocate for rural health care and improved access to health care services, and has been backed by a dedicated and hard working board of trustees, including Herb Hilliard, Raymond Dominici, MD, Judge Reuben Clark, Eddie Stuckey, Cheryl Wingard, Dorothy Wilder, Don Ellis, Johnnie Calvert, and Robert L. Ridgeway III, MD; and

Whereas, his innovative approach to identify children eligible for expanded Medicaid coverage, working with and through the efforts of the school health committee, is typical of the forward thinking and innovation he brings to his job; and

Whereas, by his active involvement as a member of the South Carolina Health Care Alliance, he brings his dedication and acumen to all those most closely involved with health issues; and

Whereas, it is appropriate for the members of the General Assembly to pause in their deliberations so they might add their voices to those honoring so dedicated a public servant. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate Edward R. Frye, Jr., Administrator of Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning, on his receipt of the prestigious Community Service Award of the South Carolina Health Alliance.
