A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

RECOGNIZING AND SALUTING LINDA M. FRANKLIN, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA TRIAL LAWYERS ASSOCIATION, FOR HER DEDICATED HARD WORK WITH THAT ASSOCIATION AND FOR HER HUMANITARIAN SPIRIT, AND COMMENDING HER FOR HER EFFORTS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN MAKING THE PALMETTO STATE SAFE FOR FAMILIES.

Whereas, Linda M. Franklin began her career with the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association (SCTLA) twenty years ago; she has served as the association's executive director since 1989, and she also currently serves as president of the National Association of Trial Lawyer Executives (NATLE); and

Whereas, Ms. Franklin has served SCTLA and her community outstandingly; she volunteers and serves on the board of directors for Carolina Sunshine for Children, making wishes come true for children who have life-threatening illnesses; she provides Halloween party favors each year to the children in residence at the South Carolina State Mental Health Hospital in Columbia; she is an active member of Ashland United Methodist Church, where she currently serves as a member of the church's Financial Committee; she is a member of the South Carolina Society of Association Executives; and she is also the very proud aunt of eighteen nieces and nephews and of fifteen grandnieces and grandnephews with one on the way; and

Whereas, she is known by her countless friends across the nation as an individual who is dedicated to her work at SCTLA and its goal of keeping families safe; and

Whereas, Linda Franklin is one of the most respected and admired professional executives in South Carolina and is a beloved humanitarian; it truly gives us great pleasure to have this opportunity to recognize this very outstanding lady for her accomplishments and hard work. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and salute Linda M. Franklin, executive director of the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, for her dedicated hard work with that association and for her humanitarian spirit and commend her for her efforts and accomplishments in making the Palmetto State safe for families.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Franklin.
