TO EXPRESS THE SINCERE APPRECIATION AND GRATITUDE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO THEIR GOOD FRIEND, WADE A. "BUBBA" GREEN OF RICHLAND COUNTY, FOR HIS MORE THAN TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS OF DEDICATION AND DEVOTED SERVICE AS SENIOR DIRECTOR OF GOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS FOR CLEMSON UNIVERSITY AND WISHING HIM ABUNDANT HAPPINESS UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT ON JUNE 30, 1999.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House note with mixed feelings the decision of Wade A. "Bubba" Green to retire after thirty-two years of public service in state government; and

Whereas, these mixed feelings arise because "Bubba" Green's retirement will be a great loss to Clemson University and the people of this great State; and

Whereas, "Bubba" Green served his country honorably in the Vietnam War and is currently a member of the South Carolina Army National Guard; and

Whereas, "Bubba" Green began his illustrious career at Clemson University on March 1, 1972. He previously was employed as the lobbyist for the South Carolina Municipal Association; and

Whereas, "Bubba" Green has been instrumental in securing funding for every academic and research facility at Clemson University since 1972; and

Whereas, through "Bubba" Green's lobbying efforts, the many programs funded for Clemson University by the South Carolina General Assembly have touched the lives of many citizens in the Palmetto State; and

Whereas, his working knowledge of Clemson University and its history is surpassed by none - it is as vast and far reaching as the University itself; and

Whereas, he is the goodwill ambassador for Clemson University and through his commitment and assistance many students have found their way to and through Clemson University; and

Whereas, "Bubba" Green is well known and highly regarded as a true southern gentleman, who has always gone the extra mile to accommodate the citizens of the State of South Carolina; and

Whereas, as a representative of Clemson University, "Bubba" Green has never compromised on honesty and integrity in his work with every branch of state government; and

Whereas, "Bubba" has always been the ultimate "ticketman" for the Clemson Tigers. He could manage to find "two more tickets for the USC versus Clemson game" when no one else could; and

Whereas, his accommodating manner at football games, special events, dinners, and receptions has consistently made folks feel proud to be involved with Clemson University; and

Whereas, "The Bubba" possesses the title as the longest serving lobbyist at the State House; and

Whereas, "Bubba" Green's blood runneth orange as he has given his heart and soul to Clemson University; and

Whereas, it is with great pride that we pause in our deliberations to honor this distinguished South Carolinian, Wade A. "Bubba" Green and offer a special thank you for all his years of faithful public service. Now, therefore,
