A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE SOUTH AIKEN HIGH SCHOOL "LADY THOROUGHBREDS" TENNIS TEAM AND HEAD COACH, DONNA JONES, ON CAPTURING THEIR THIRD CLASS AAAA STATE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP IN FIVE YEARS.

Whereas, the South Aiken High School "Lady Thoroughbreds" Tennis Team defeated South Florence High School to win the 1999 Class AAAA State Tennis Championship and their third Class AAAA State Tennis Championship in five years; and

Whereas, the title caps off a stellar six-year run for seniors, Allison Lee and Elizabeth Sauerborn, who will graduate with three titles under their belts; and

Whereas, the South Aiken High School Ladies' Tennis Team for 1999 included Elizabeth Sauerborn, Allison Lee, Audrey George, Katie Sintich, Teresa Chow, Caroline Smith, Heather Casey, Austin Smoak, Tamara Looney, and Lauren Smith; and

Whereas, Donna Jones, in her second year as "Lady Thoroughbreds" Head Coach has continued the tradition of excellent coaching that is the hallmark of the South Aiken High School tennis program; and

Whereas, the countless hours of practice, hard work, and sacrifices reflect the "Lady Thoroughbreds" determination to be the best they could be; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly would like to publicly recognize and congratulate each player, coach, and school official upon the conclusion of a truly memorable season. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate the South Aiken High School "Lady Thoroughbreds" Tennis Team and Head Coach, Donna Jones, on capturing their third Class AAAA State Tennis Championship in five years.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Head Coach, Donna Jones.
