A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 23-9-55 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A BUILDING INSPECTOR MAY CONDUCT A FIRE AND SAFETY INSPECTION FOR A PUBLIC BUILDING AND SUBMIT HIS REPORT TO THE STATE FIRE MARSHAL.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 23-9-55. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 23-9-50, a building inspector in the jurisdiction in which a public building is located may conduct a fire and safety inspection for the building and submit his report to the State Fire Marshall.

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
