A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING WILSON HALL OF SUMTER COUNTY ON WINNING THE SCISAA 3A BOYS STATE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP ON MARCH 4, 2000, AT THE SUMTER COUNTY EXHIBITION CENTER.

Whereas, the Barons of Wilson Hall of Sumter County defeated the Panthers of Pinewood Prep 63-51 on Saturday, March 4, 2000, at the Sumter County Exhibition Center to claim the SCISAA 3A boys state basketball championship for 2000; and

Whereas, the Barons of Wilson Hall finished the 1999-2000 campaign with a stellar 24-3 overall record but had not won a state championship in boys basketball since 1980; and

Whereas, the Barons, coached by Eddie Talley, exhibited hard work, talent, determination, and unity throughout their 1999-2000 season; these qualities and characteristics all came together to propel the Barons to the state title; and

Whereas, we are very pleased to have this opportunity to recognize the Wilson Hall boys basketball team and its fine coach with respect to this outstanding accomplishment. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Wilson Hall of Sumter County on winning the SCISAA 3 A boys state basketball championship on March 4, 2000, at the Sumter County Exhibition Center.
