A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE GRATITUDE OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE TEACHERS, ADMINISTRATORS, AND STAFF OF SPARTANBURG SCHOOL DISTRICT TWO WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE RECOGNITION OF BOILING SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL AS A CAROLINA FIRST PALMETTO'S FINEST INSTITUTION AND WHO CREATE THE RICH LEARNING ENVIRONMENT WHICH IS THE KEY TO EDUCATIONAL SUCCESS IN SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, Boiling Springs High School of Spartanburg School District Two was chosen from all South Carolina secondary schools to be honored with the Carolina First Palmetto's Finest Award for the year 2000; and

Whereas, Carolina First Bank and the South Carolina Association of School Administrators honor two elementary schools, one middle school, and one secondary school each year with the Carolina First Palmetto's Finest Award in recognition of excellence in student achievement, faculty training, administrative practices, and community involvement; and

Whereas, the teaching faculty, administrators, and staff of Boiling Springs High School are to be commended for their commitment to excellence, tireless efforts, and continuous dedication, which has brought great honor and distinction to the community; and

Whereas, Boiling Springs High School has also been recognized for this outstanding achievement through the unfailing support and exemplary work of the administrators and personnel who coordinate all the efforts of Spartanburg School District Two; and

Whereas, it should be recognized that each outstanding student which Boiling Springs High School graduates represents at least a full twelve years of commitment from the dedicated teachers, administrators, and staff of not only Boiling Springs High School, but also Boiling Springs Junior High School, Boiling Springs Middle School, and Boiling Springs Elementary, Carlisle/Foster Grove Elementary, and Hendrix Elementary Schools. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express their gratitude to all of the teachers, administrators, and staff of Spartanburg School District Two who have contributed to the recognition of Boiling Springs High School as a Carolina First Palmetto's Finest institution and who create the rich learning environment which is the key to educational success in South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. James Jennings, Superintendent, Spartanburg School District Two.
