TO PROVIDE THAT, NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW, UP TO FOUR SCHOOL DAYS MISSED BY THE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS OF ANY SCHOOL OF THE DARLINGTON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT DURING SCHOOL YEAR 1999-2000 WHEN THE SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO ICE, SNOW, FLOODING, RESULTING HAZARDOUS ROAD CONDITIONS, OR HEATING PROBLEMS IN ANY PARTICULAR SCHOOL OF THE DISTRICT ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, including the provisions of an unnumbered act of 2000 bearing the ratification number 247, up to four school days missed by students and teachers of any school of the Darlington County School District during school year 1999-2000 when the schools were closed due to ice, snow, flooding, resulting hazardous road conditions, or heating problems in any particular school of the district are exempted from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
