TO EXPRESS THE CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SENATE TO EVELYN H. "HOLLY" WYMAN ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT FROM THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE.
Whereas, the members of the Senate note that Evelyn H. "Holly" Wyman is retiring April 1, 1999, after a distinguished career with the South Carolina Department of Revenue; and
Whereas, Holly joined what was then the Tax Commission in July, 1968, in its sales and use tax division and has worked there continuously ever since; and
Whereas, she has brought her energy and intelligence to every opportunity to improve her agency, serving on numerous committees and generously sharing her wealth of "institutional memory" with her coworkers; and
Whereas, she has combined her devoted service to the department with a commitment to the activities of the Edwards Memorial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church where she works especially with the church's elderly members; and
Whereas, it is appropriate for the members of the Senate to pause in their deliberations so that they might honor a public servant whose career has been an exemplar for the high calling that is public service. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate express their congratulations and best wishes to Evelyn H. "Holly" Wyman on the occasion of her retirement from the South Carolina Department of Revenue.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Evelyn H. "Holly" Wyman.
