Indicates New Matter

The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark, as follows:

We thank You, Lord, for the fresh start of this new day. In every situation guide our words and actions that we may bring Your truths to all that we meet. Help us to view every situation through Your eyes. Help us to recognize every blessing as evidence of Your love. Keep us from seeing the privilege of prayer as a routine. It's beyond our grasp that You Who created the universe would be interested in the life of each one of Your children. Help us to seek You throughout the day, not just during these moments of prayer. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
