The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark, as follows:

O God and Father of us all, grant us the sense of Your nearness. Give to each of us a measure of that higher wisdom which is Your gift to those who trust in You. We confess that without You, our efforts are insufficient, but Your presence is great. Guide by Your leadership all of our doings. Unite our hearts and minds in all worthwhile endeavors. Grant a fruitful harvest to all that is worthy, both great and small. May goodness and mercy follow us all the days of our lives, and make us worthy of Your divine approval. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
