A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL DAYS MISSED ON AUGUST 20 AND 21, 1998, BY THE STUDENTS OF CANNONS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN SPARTANBURG SCHOOL DISTRICT THREE FOR SCHOOL YEAR 1998-99 WHEN THE SCHOOL WAS CLOSED DUE TO CONSTRUCTION DEFICIENCIES IN A NEW FACILITY ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, school days missed on August 20 and 21, 1998, by the students of Cannons Elementary School in Spartanburg School District Three for school year 1998-99 when the school was closed due to construction deficiencies in a new facility are exempted from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
