A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL DAY OF JANUARY 22, 1999, MISSED BY THE STUDENTS OF TAMASSEE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF OCONEE COUNTY WHEN THE SCHOOL WAS CLOSED DUE TO A BROKEN WATER MAIN IS EXEMPTED FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding Section 59-1-430 of the 1976 Code or any other provision of law, the school day of January 22, 1999, missed by the students of Tamassee Elementary School of the School District of Oconee County when the school was closed due to a broken water main is exempted from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
