A BILL

TO PROVIDE THAT THE CAMDEN HISTORICAL COMMISSION OF KERSHAW COUNTY IS AUTHORIZED TO DEED ITS PROPERTIES TO THE CAMDEN DISTRICT HERITAGE FOUNDATION; TO INSTRUCT THE CLERK OF COURT OF KERSHAW COUNTY TO ENTER IN THE REAL ESTATE INDEX THE CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP OF THE COMMISSION'S PROPERTIES; TO ABOLISH THE CAMDEN HISTORICAL COMMISSION AND DEVOLVE ITS POWERS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES UPON THE CAMDEN DISTRICT HERITAGE FOUNDATION AND TO REPEAL ACT 308 OF 1969, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE CAMDEN HISTORICAL COMMISSION, ALL ON JUNE 30, 2000.

Amend Title To Conform

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. In addition to its powers and duties as now provided by law, the Camden Historical Commission of Kershaw County is authorized to deed its properties to the Historic Camden Foundation.

SECTION 2. The Clerk of Court for Kershaw County is instructed to enter in the real estate index the change of ownership of the properties in Kershaw County titled in the name of the Camden Historical Commission to the name of the Historic Camden Foundation.

SECTION 3. The Camden Historical Commission shall by June 30, 2000, deed its properties in Kershaw County to the Historic Camden Foundation. On June 30, 2000, the Camden Historical Commission is abolished and its powers, duties, and functions are devolved upon the Historic Camden Foundation.

SECTION 4. On June 30, 2000, Act 308 of 1969, as amended, is repealed.

SECTION 5. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
