A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR, LICENSING AND REGULATION, OFFICE OF LABOR SERVICES, RELATING TO CHILD LABOR, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2355, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The regulations of the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, Office of Labor Services, relating to child labor, designated as Regulation Document Number 2355, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED

BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.

The Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, Division of Labor, proposes regulations to set proposed penalties for infractions of the child labor laws in order to implement the provisions of the recently enacted amendment to South Carolina Code Section 41-10-25.

The statute directs the department to propose penalties after considering the gravity of the violation and the size and history of the employer.
